He makes a distinction between the written word and the living word. The word became flesh and dwelt among men. Jesus is a living word. Today, we are looking at the written word. We are looking at an in-depth study of the book of Proverbs. What we want to do is to see through the written word, through the ink and the chicken tracks on the page. - We are looking at Proverbs today. We are looking at Proverbs chapter 2, verse 1. We were there yesterday, but I can’t leave it. It says, “My child listen to me and treasure my instructions. Tune your ears to wisdom and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight and understanding. Search for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure. - Yesterday, we looked at the fact that there are two different kinds of wisdom. Remember? We were in the book of Proverbs, ….….and we were lifting up wisdom. God said, seek after wisdom. We’ll see that clearly as we look at Proverbs Chapter 3. But, what kind of wisdom is it that we’re looking for? Just in case you weren’t tuned in yesterday, I have to make this clear. An Introduction to Proverbs Part 2
- Yesterday, we learned that wisdom is something to be sought after. The Lord has led us to the book of Proverbs. One of the hopes we have….. is that we will see the gospel of Jesus Christ revealed in the book of Proverbs. Chapter 1 of Proverbs really focuses on wisdom.
If there is anything that is needed today, with all the temptation, with all of the possibilities for sin that exists, it is wisdom. We need wisdom today more than anytime before, to walk wisely in Christ Jesus.

An Introduction to Proverbs Part 1
- Today we’re beginning a new study. We’ll be looking at the book of Proverbs. Our hope is to find the gospel of Jesus Christ displayed in the book of Proverbs.Why Proverbs?
Well, listen to what it says in the first couple of verses. It says, “These are the Proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, King of Israel. The purpose of these Proverbs is to teach people wisdom and discipline and to help them understand wise sayings. Through these Proverbs people will receive instruction, and discipline, good conduct and doing what is right, just, and fair.
